Fang Lijun is internationally recognized as one of the most influential contemporary Chinese artists. Born in Handan in 1963, he graduated from the Print Department at the Central Institute of Fine Arts Beijing in 1989. Fang Lijun now lives and works in Beijing. Already in 1998 Fang Lijun’s work was shown in a solo exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. Further solo exhibitions have been hosted by the Ludwig Forum for International Art in Aachen and the Kupferstichkabinett in Berlin.
